Food Bank Winter Appeal 2021. Donate today to help your local community! This year, with the support of local people, we've provided 16,020 meals to 1,780 adults and children in need in South Derbyshire so far. Demand is growing.People can be struggling for all kinds of reasons - fuel poverty, end of furlough, loss of jobs, higher cost of living, or other changes in personal circumstances. Your help and support is crucial at this time.
£5 buys food for a child for 1 day
£25 buys food for a family for 3 days
£50 buys food for a family for 1 week
Big or small, a gift from you will help us make sure no-one in South Derbyshire goes hungry.
We have been trying to add more nutrition to our food banks by adding fridge items such as butter, cheese, hams to our food bags but these items are not often donated ( of course these would have to come to us direct for correct storage). We add fresh fruit/veg as much as we can to food boxes we do not often get these from donors unless food stores donate from their surplus.

The Handy Person Help at Home Service can provide a range of handy person services and support to vulnerable and disabled people living across South Derbyshire. The aim is to enable people to continue independent living and facilitate better health and wellbeing.
Who can use the service? Vulnerable and disabled people and those with long term health conditions in South Derbyshire. Available to home owners or those living in private or social rental properties (with permission from landlord). The service does not support those living in Council properties.
Who can make referrals? Professionals, family and self-referrals. How much does the service cost? The service is free. A person can use the Handy Person a maximum of three times per year. There is no limit to help from The Handy Person Support Coordinator.
