Neil Barker
I moved to Castle Gresley in 2006 and was joined shortly after by my now wife. In 2012 our son was born and we toyed with the idea of buying a house in a different area, but like where we live too much to move - we value the peace and quiet where we are!
I am a self-employed driving instructors and can regularly be seen out and about in the village and surrounding areas teaching people to drive.
I joined the Parish Council in 2020 with a desire to improve the facilities for the local community and would hope that the steps and measures we are taking are starting to change things for the better. We aim to be approachable and I am always happy to discuss any ideas/concerns that residents may have.
Hannah Davies
I have lived in Castle Gresley since 2004.
I was a Trading Standards Officer, working for Birmingham City council for 37 years. Over that time period I worked in a number of sections dealing with motor vehicle fraud, counterfeiting, product safety, debt counselling, general consumer law and culminating with with fly tipping.
I have sporting background having completed a number of half marathons, triathlons and Ironman events.
I joined the Parish Council to make a difference to the local community, get to know local residents and make the area a safer, better more inclusive place to live.
Steph Lloyd
I have lived in South Derbyshire since 2013 and joined the Parish Council as Clerk in September 2017.
I took my CiLCA qualification in the first 2 years of being Clerk and took on the role as I care about improving the local community for those that live here.
So what do I do? As the Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer, I am the only paid employee of the Parish Council. I co-ordinate all correspondence, respond to resident reports and queries, send out agenda's and arrange meetings and generally make sure the council works as effectively as possible and addresses all the matters that are raised. I liaise directly with District and County Council and with the Police and other local organisations and ensure that the instructions given by council are fulfilled.
I am also responsible for implementing policies, finance and yearly auditing .
Get involved in our community and make a difference. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, from organising events to supporting local causes.
